This is not a podcast player. Cast/Snip is simply a way to share clips of podcasts with your friends via text message or any other social media platform.
Returning to the App Store SoonCast/Snip isn't a podcast app. It's just a simple way to grab your favorite audio segments and share them with the world.
Easily isolate the exact audio snippet you want and instantly share it with friends via text message or on any social media platform.
If you're looking for a dedicated app to listen to your podcasts, I highly recommend checking out Overcast or Castro. Both offer clip sharing features as well.
The app is 100% free. If you'd like to say thanks, an optional in-app purchase allows you to remove the Cast/Snip watermark and replace it with your own.
Cast/Snip originally launched in 2018 as a pioneering tool for capturing and sharing podcast snippets—arriving before dedicated players like Overcast and Castro introduced similar built-in features. In a word, Cast/Snip was (IYKYK) Sherlocked... And for good reason, it really is just a feature - but sometimes a feature can be so useful that it deserves to be its own product focused entirely on delivering more robust and flexible export options. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
The original source code is available on GitHub. No idea if it still works...
